EZ RIVERO
Growing up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Ez developed a love for surfing from an early age. He travelled the world for 12 years before settling in the laid-back, beachside town of Santa Teresa in Costa Rica.
While he’s always loved the medium of photography, it wasn’t until 2017 that he truly began to explore it for himself. A chance encounter in Morocco changed everything, when a fellow traveller with a camera offered Ez a small fee to photograph him and his friend surfing. In that moment, Ez realized he could merge his two passions: surfing and photography. Since then, it’s become his full-time pursuit.
His first visit to Costa Rica in 2008 played a key role in shaping his aesthetic. Introduced to vintage issues of The Surfer’s Journal and other classic surf magazines, Ez fell in love with the nostalgic, film-like quality of those images - an influence still evident in his distinctive style today. Ez constantly seeks fresh perspectives, both in the water and through the lens. He experiments with colour, composition and editing techniques to keep his work bold, personal, and unmistakably his own.
