What to Expect
Placing an Order
Every photograph has a story. At The Lost Works, your chosen piece is printed and framed to order, ready to become part of yours.
You can place your order directly through our website. If you would like guidance on choosing a photograph, size or frame, get in touch - we’re happy to help you find the right piece for your space.
Printing and Framing
Once your order is confirmed, your photograph enters production here in the UK.
All our six sizes are giclée printed on 310gsm cotton fine art paper, chosen for its smooth, matt surface and ability to reproduce detail, depth and colour.
We offer complimentary framing for UK customers, with frames available in black, white or solid oak. Each frame is handcrafted and finished with protective acrylic glazing. Framed pieces arrive ready to hang, while print-only orders are supplied with a paper border for framing independently.
Please allow approximately three to four weeks for printing, framing and delivery.
Packaging and Delivery
We offer complimentary delivery on framed and unframed prints to mainland UK, subject to any exclusions set out in our delivery terms.
For delivery outside the UK, please contact us before placing your order so we can discuss the available options.
Authenticity and Care
Every print is supplied with a certificate of authenticity, and each purchase directly supports the photographer behind the work.
To help preserve your photograph, display it away from long hours of direct sunlight, excessive heat and moisture. If you have any questions about hanging or caring for your piece, please read our guide or get in touch.
About our frames
About Our Frames
A frame should complement a photograph, giving it space while protecting it for years to come. We offer complimentary framing for UK customers, with every frame made to order to suit your chosen print.
Materials and Finishes
Our frames are available in black, white or solid oak. Each is handcrafted, with a subtle grain that brings texture to the finished piece.
We use shadow box frames to create space between the photograph and the acrylic glazing. This depth gives the print a considered, gallery-style finish.
Borders and Proportions
Choose a paper border to give your photograph room to breathe, or a full-bleed finish for an image that extends to the frame.
For bordered prints, Small, Medium and Large sizes have a 2.5cm paper border within a 1.5cm frame. Grand, Statement and Gallery sizes have a 3.5cm border within a 2cm frame, keeping the proportions balanced as the artwork increases in size.
Protective Glazing
Each frame is finished with lightweight, shatter-resistant acrylic glazing that provides UV protection. This helps protect your photograph while making larger pieces easier to handle and hang.
Ready to Hang
Every framed print arrives ready to hang, with a picture cord or hanging hardware fitted to the back, depending on its size.
If you would like help choosing a finish or understanding the final framed dimensions, please get in touch. We’re happy to help you find the right fit for your photograph and your space.
