ABOUT THE ARTIST

CHRIS HALL

Based in Newquay, Cornwall, Chris Hall is an ocean photographer whose connection to the sea began long before he picked up a camera. Growing up in Norwich, he spent his childhood bodyboarding the beach breaks of the North Norfolk coast - often mediocre, occasionally epic, and always formative.

A move to Cornwall brought him to the Atlantic, and he never looked back. Years of surfing and travelling the world gradually brought photography, a lifelong passion, to the fore, and he later returned to education, graduating with a First in Applied Media.

Chris looks beyond the conventional surf shot, choosing instead to focus on light, mood, texture and movement. On the South West coast, dramatic weather can change conditions by the hour, and no two shoots are ever the same. That unpredictability keeps drawing him back to the water, and it gives his work its distinctive, atmospheric quality.

His collection is available exclusively through The Lost Works as fine art prints, framed and ready to hang.
